Since we are revealing a cover for “The Author", I thought we'd give you a taste of Dana and Richard from this title. In the following scene, Dana lives in Pittsburgh and Richard is still traveling from Philly to see her on the weekends.
Dana was not a superstitious person. She knew the date on the calendar was unlucky, but she was feeling pretty good. Her newspaper article was finished, the novella she’d just begun (thanks to Richard’s inspiration) was hotter than hell, and her favorite chardonnay was chilling in the refrigerator. Even the mechanic called that morning to say her car would be ready by Wednesday, and luckily, Richard was not able to visit until the following weekend – so her ‘cover-up’ was almost a success. Their “Skype sex” date had been incredible, and although she didn’t want to lie to him by omission, there seemed no reason to ruin the mood with details of her recent car accident.
She sauntered into her bedroom to change, and thought it would be fun to dress in her comfortable pajamas that Richard bought her when they went to the mall. After much deliberation, she chose the bottoms with ice cream cones and a matching pink fleece top. She slipped into her fuzzy pink flip flops and padded her way into the kitchen to open the chilled bottle of wine. As she poured herself a full glass, she heard a knock on the front door. Must be the pizza I ordered, she thought to herself. Immediately, she opened the door and found Richard standing with a pizza box in his hand.
“I high-jacked your delivery person - hope you ordered pepperoni,” he said smiling. “And has it ever occurred to you to ask who it is before you open the door, young lady?”
Dana stood in silent surprise for a moment and then smiled broadly. “Sorry, I forgot.” The pizza smelled wonderful as she carried it into the kitchen. “Can I offer you a glass of wine?” She motioned toward him with her filled glass as he took off his jacket.
“Nice outfit. Do you think a six-year-old should drink wine?” he asked as he lovingly patted her behind.
She rolled her eyes. “It’s been a crazy week.” She reached for a glass and handed it to him.
Richard put the glass on the counter, and wrapped his arms around her. “Don’t I get a hug? I thought this would be a welcome surprise, but you don’t look that happy to see me.” He kissed her forehead.
“Sorry.” Dana returned the hug, with a worried look in her eyes.
“Okay, now I know something is up.” Richard gently turned her face to meet his. “Kitten, what is it?”
Dana’s face flushed red as she picked up his glass and poured the wine. “Here, drink this. You’re going to need it,” she said with a guilty grin.
“No, I don’t think so. Let’s dispense with the drama, young lady.” He crossed his arms, with a serious look on his face.
“Okay, but can I sit on your lap while I tell you?”
Richard followed her into the den and sat on the couch. Dana got comfortable in his lap and nuzzled her cheek next to his. The mingled scents of soap and her favorite men’s cologne were a comfort to inhale.
She took a deep breath, blew it out, and whispered, “I was in a car accident on Monday.”
“Oh my God! Are you all right?” He pulled her away from his chest to look her in the eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me – we saw each other on Skype that night. When did it happen?”
“I was on my way home from Dr. Cohen’s office.”
“You weren’t hurt, were you?”
“Uh – oh, we’re in the ‘sir’ mode. That can’t be good. How’s your car?”
“It’s in the shop getting fixed.”
“Well, thank God you’re okay. But I’m getting a bad feeling about this. Are you going to tell me the story, or do I have to guess?”
“I think you might have to guess.” Dana hid her face back in his chest.
“If you were driving, young lady, you don’t get to be a six-year-old. I have a big girl on my lap right now who was in a car accident. And she better tell me the truth.”
“Now,” he said firmly.
“Okay, I was texting Carla and ran into the back of a car.” Her eyes were closed and the words spilled quickly out of her mouth.
“Was the other driver hurt?” he asked gently.
“No, thank God. Only our cars were damaged. She was actually very nice about it, considering it was my fault.”
“I assume the police came to write up a report. Did you tell them the truth?”
“Yes, I told them. I got a ticket for illegally running a stop sign, and a summons will come in the mail.” Dana’s voice was muffled in his chest.
“Texting and driving is illegal in the state of Pennsylvania.” His eyes were raised to the ceiling.
“Yes, I know.”
Richard’s voice remained calm. “You and I had an exchange of words after you left Dr. Cohen’s office. What did I say?”
“You said not to text and drive.”
“There was more, young lady.”
“And that you would tan my hide, if I did.”
“So, you were texting Carla.”
“I tried to call her, but she didn’t answer.”
“You conversed in text form, even though you were driving.”
“Do you know how dangerous that was?”
“I know, and I’m really sorry,” she whispered.
“I’ll bet you’re sorry for a lot of things right now, aren’t you?”
“I should have called to tell you, but I didn’t. I made Carla promise not to say anything.”
Richard gently lifted her chin with two fingers. “You not only disobeyed me, but didn’t trust me enough to share the truth. I thought you wanted me to move in. How can I be the head of this household if you don’t trust me?”
Richard took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “You need to make a decision, darlin’. I’m going to let you think for a while by yourself, while I blow off some steam.”
“Are you going to punish me when you get back?”
“That will be your decision, Dana. You know very well that when you disobey me, you will be punished. But the fact that you lied to me, is putting me over the edge. You deserve a good, hard spanking, young lady. But I won’t do it without your consent.” Richard coaxed her off his lap and led her across the room to stand in the corner.
“Lower your pants, now,” he snarled.
She lowered her pajamas right below her bottom.
“Take them down all the way, and panties, too.” He administered a sharp smack to her soft behind.
Dana slid her panties and pajama bottoms to her feet. Her eyes welled up with tears. It wasn’t like her to cry.
“Don’t move until I get back. Can you follow that direction?”
Dana nodded, her lower lip quivering.
Richard calmly grabbed his jacket and walked out of the house. Dana stared at the corner through blurry eyes. It was actually a relief to cry, she thought as the tears rolled down her cheeks. She wasn’t really afraid of a punishment after what she’d been through in her life. There was nothing worse than being abandoned - except for being invisible, she thought. If she could just trust that Richard loved her the way she was, everything would be alright. Dana cried quietly in the corner, for what seemed a long time. Finally, she heard the front door open. Thank God he came back.
Richard took off his jacket and sat down on the couch.
"Come here, right now.” His voice was controlled, but firm.
Dana started to pick her bottoms back up, but he stopped her.
“Leave them in the corner.”
She quickly stepped out of her clothes, turned and looked at him. Her stomach flipped.
Richard looked up at the ceiling. “Do I need to count?”
She shook her head, and ran over to him.
He picked her up and gently put her on his lap. “Have you made a decision yet?”
“Yes, sir.” She hugged him, tears forming again in her eyes. “I love you,” she whispered in his ear.
“I love you too, darlin’, which is why I need to make sure you never pull a stunt like that again. I couldn’t bear to lose you. Do you understand that?” he hugged her tight.
“I do. I’m so sorry.” Tears dripped down her cheeks.
He slid her off his lap and pulled her over his knee. He wasted no time getting started. There was no warm up. He smacked each cheek, going from left to right, steadily. There was a slow and steady cadence to this spanking. She continued to cry softly, and while he spanked, he spoke to her in a gentle voice.
“Do you think better over my knee, kitten?”
“Yes, sir,” she quavered.
“What are you thinking?” he asked as he punctuated each word with a swift smack.
“That I want you in my life. And I’m sorry I didn’t trust you,” she started sobbing.
“Your punishment isn’t over, honey girl. You know that, right?”
He stood her up and snapped his fingers, motioning for her to go back to the corner. When she didn’t move, he turned her around and spanked her bottom twice.
“You’ll go back to the corner right now. Don’t move or speak until I say you can.”
Dana returned to the corner and took her stance.
Richard stood behind her and growled in her ear, “Push your bum out, like you’re supposed to.”
As she complied, his cool, wet finger entered her small bottom hole. “What do you think of when you feel me enter you this way?”
“Oww, you’re stretching me.”
“I asked you a question, young lady. Answer it properly, please.”
“It feels like you’re inside me, sir.”
He slid his finger even further and whispered in her ear. “And how does this feel?”
“It feels like you’ve filled me, sir.”
“I’m in charge right now. Do you understand?”
“I want you to take your very pink behind and place it over the arm of that chair,” he said as he removed his finger.
She slowly walked to the chair and lifted herself over the arm. Her head was down, her bum was up in the air, and her feet were off the floor. Richard quickly walked to the bathroom and washed his hands. On his way to the chair, he stopped to retrieve something from under his jacket. Dana didn’t look up, but suddenly felt something smooth and cool rub against her warm stinging flesh.
“Oh my God, Richard, what is that?”
“I hope it’s something that will help you remember never to text and drive again. Spread your legs, darlin’.” He touched the inside of her thighs with something hard. She obediently separated her legs for him, and quickly felt a sharp smack on her right cheek.
“Owww, Richard that hurts.”
“I’m sure it does, it’s a leather paddle,” he said as he gave her a smack on her other cheek.
“Oww! We never agreed to a paddle.”
“No. But you said you wouldn’t text and drive. I also never thought you’d lie to me. This is what I meant when I said I would tan your hide. And I plan to do a very good job.”
Her backside reddened quickly with each stroke of the paddle, as he continued to warm up each cheek.
“I promise, no more lying. Ouch! I promise.” He continued to smack Dana’s bottom with the paddle as she sobbed and squirmed. When he’d decided she’d had enough, Richard threw the paddle on the coffee table with one hand and smoothed her hot, red skin with the other as she continued to cry softly. It melted his heart to see her so emotional, but he knew it was what she needed.
“This is such an embarrassing position. May I please get up?” Her head was down on the chair cushion, the leather stained with her tears.
He felt his pants getting tight as he admired her red bottom. Then his gaze drew lower until he could see how moist her pussy had become.
“I would like nothing better than to slide into you from behind, right now. But then, that wouldn’t be a punishment would it?” he whispered in her ear.
Gently, he sat her tender behind down on his rough jeans. Her crying slowed to soft hiccups as she buried her face in his neck. As he smoothed her curly hair behind her ears, he rocked her softly and kissed her cheek.
“Do you feel better now that all the guilt is gone?”
She nodded. “I can’t remember the last time I cried like that.”
“Sometimes it’s good to have a release,” he sighed.
“I get so stressed, it’s hard to live alone.” She loved to play with the stubble on his chin.
“Did you say you loved me?”
She nodded, as she sniffed.
Richard reached for a box of tissues and gently wiped her nose. “Do you want to get dressed by yourself, sugar pop – or do you need some help?”
“I can do it myself.” She spoke in a small quiet voice as he lifted her off his lap and gave a gentle pat to her behind.
She looked back at him and stuck her tongue out, as she hurried to retrieve her bottoms.
“Did you really think that was wise, considering that Mr. Paddle is still in the room?”
“Probably not,” she conceded as she sat in the corner fumbling with her pajamas.
“While you’re dressing yourself, would you like me to re-heat our pizza?”
She nodded and smiled.
“Someone needs to be spanked more often,” Richard said as he turned his back and headed for the kitchen.
Dana quickly flipped him the bird.
“Now, where would a six-year-old learn such a thing?” He stopped to cross his arms.
“Not from the same people who installed eyes in the back of your head,” she retorted.
Dana followed him in the kitchen and climbed on a chair. “Could you peel the pepperoni off the pizza for me? It’s yucky.”
“Weren’t you the one who ordered it, young lady?”
“Uh-huh – I was much older then.”
Richard popped the pizza in the oven, scooped her up in his arms and settled her in his lap. “What shall we do while we wait?”
“Could you rub my tushy? It stings,” she stuck her lower lip out.
“Sorry, kitten. You need to feel that sting.” Richard tapped her on the nose and sighed. “I know, let’s talk about how much you love me.”
“I love you this much.” Dana held her arms out wide and he tickled her tummy in between.
Dana giggled and hugged him tight. “Is this what unconditional love feels like?”
“This is it, sugar pop. And to answer your next question, you’re stuck with me.” Richard kissed the top of her head and smiled.
“Actually, my next question was about the pepperoni. Is it too late to change my mind?”
