PROLOGUE
It wasn't an easy task limiting alcohol to the weekends, and I'd been quite proud of my restraint and control in that area. So, when my primary care doctor asked why I was still indulging, my eyes rolled to the ceiling in disbelief.
"Exactly how many drinks are we talking about?" he asked, crossing his arms.
"Two glasses of vodka on Friday and Saturday night," I responded quickly and then waited for a response. But the silence was deafening, so I continued. "My favorite drink is a healthy shot of Tito's on the rocks with the juice of one cranberry."
His head tilted to the side, "Just so I'm clear, why is it you feel the need to have more than one drink?"
Staring him dead in the eye, I paused for a dramatic effect. "Because my parents are still alive."

Sparks fly like shooting stars as she finally finds the man of her dreams, but was she the perfect match for a man almost twice her age?
Please note that an earlier version of this short story was previously published as Her Urban Cowboy Christmas which was part of an anthology titled 12 Naughty Days of Christmas 2022. This new edition has been retitled and updated with several new chapters. And what makes this edition even better, is that our heroine now has an all new background!
